Indications of Lexotanil 3

Lexotanil is indicated for anxiety, tension, and other somatic or psychiatric complaints associated with anxiety syndrome. It can also be used as an adjunct for the treatment of anxiety or excitation associated with psychiatric disorders, such as mood disorders or schizophrenia.
Benzodiazepines are only indicated when the disorder is severe, disabling, or subjecting the individual to extreme distress.

Pharmacology

Bromazepam is a very effective psychotropic medication. It selectively lowers stress and anxiety at lower doses. It has sedative and muscle-relaxant effects at larger doses. Bromazepam binds to the GABA-A receptor, causing it to alter its shape and amplifying its inhibitory effects. Other neurotransmitters are unaffected.

Contraindications

Additionally, Lexotanil should be used with caution in patients with:

Patients with a history of depression or suicidal tendencies should be monitored closely during treatment with Lexotanil.

Pregnancy & Lactation

Bromazepam's safety during pregnancy has not been verified. Because bromazepam is secreted in breast milk, it should be avoided during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Precautions & Warnings

• The usage of benzodiazepines and benzodiazepine-like substances may result in physical and psychological dependency on these drugs.
• This dependency is dosage and treatment-length-dependent; it is also more prevalent in susceptible patients with a history of alcoholism.
• Driving a car or using machinery should be done with caution.
• Inform your doctor about your medical history, particularly if you have kidney or liver disease, muscle problems (myasthenia gravis), a history of chemical or alcohol dependence, depression, or any allergies.
• To avoid increased drowsiness and dizziness caused by this medication, limit your alcohol intake. This medication may cause drowsiness or dizziness, so be cautious when performing tasks that require alertness, such as driving or operating machinery.
• The elderly may be more sensitive to the effects of this medication, so use it with caution.
• This medication is not recommended during pregnancy, so consult your doctor before taking it. Bromazepam may pass into breast milk and have harmful effects on a nursing infant, so consult your doctor before breastfeeding.
• Bromazepam is not recommended for use by children or adolescents under 18 years of age.
• Once physical dependency has been established, discontinuing therapy will result in withdrawal symptoms. Headache, muscular discomfort, severe anxiety, tension, disorientation, and irritability are some of the symptoms.
